Event triggered process chain not getting triggered in APO

Dear experts,

 

There was a system  outage after which one of our process chain is not getting triggered by the corresponding BI event.

Before outage , the process chain in APO was triggered by an event which was triggered by the completion of a process chain in BI.

In BI side the process chain generating the event is getting completed successfully and generating the event but the process chain in APO is not getting triggered.

We have maintained the correct event , parameter in the start variant in the APO process chain and the chain was activated and scheduled after the outage and also the connection between APO & BI are working fine.

Please help if any one of you have come across such an issue.

Determining materials to be transferred to APO

Hi

 

We are implementing APO at a client that has a deep Bill of material (8 to 9 levels).

There are certain critical materials and components that we want to plan in APO.

 

Since to correctly arrive at the demand for these materials, we need to identify all the materials that are superior to these.  For example if a component is going into three assemblies, we need to take all three of them to APO.

 

Has anyone an idea to find out the vertical chain from a child material?

CIF queues of FC* type

Hi All,

 

We recently had APO service pack upgrade from SCM 7.02 SP8 to SCM 7.02 SP15.

 

Post upgrade, we are seeing CIF queues of FC* type is getting generated and are in READY state in SMQ2 in APO.

We do not have FC* registered in SMQR in APO.


We did not get these CIF queues before upgrade.

Is anybody familiar with FC* CIF queues and what is the impact if we register them in SMQR in APO?

How to select components for SNP Optimizer automatically

Any suggestions on how to select all the components automatically for SNP Optimizer?

 

It seems like the SNP Optimizer only allows usage of a Selection ID.

 

But how do we populate the selection ID with all the components required for all the Finished Goods?


Both CTM and SNP Heuristics will select the components automatically.    I don't see such functionality with SNP Optimizer.

 

I don't want to re-plan all products as we only use SNP Optimizer for a small subset of materials.

Stock balance macro

Hi

We have a standard macro "Stock balance " in 9ASNP book, data view SNP94(1). This macro has following:

Row: Stock on Hand (Projected) ( Frm INITIAL ) =

INITIAL_STOCK( ACT_VERSION ; ACT_PRODUCT ; ACT_LOCATION ) + Row: Total Receipts ( Frm INITIAL ) -Row: Total Demand ( Frm INITIAL )

 

This means if I have a safety stock, that is not counted in this equation.

 

For example I have Initial stock = 10 LB, Total receipts = 50 LB ,Total demand = 30 LB and a safety stock requirement of 5 LB, 

 

The macro result is Stock on Hand (Projected) = 10+50-30 = 30 LB

but I think it has to be Stock on Hand (Projected) = 10+50-30 -5 = 25 LB.

 

I'm afraid we are overstating our supply when the macro is not considering the safety stock. Any thoughts?

 

Other way of saying is that if I am starting with 30 LB of initial stock and no other numbers in the planning book except safety stock requirement of 5 LB, APO standard shows that the stock remains at 30 LB going forward.

 

I'm wondering if the system should atleast consider the 5 LB in initial column so that we are left with 25 LB going forward.

Flow:

Demand from DP to SNP

 

Delivery Forecast created in SNP

 

Delivery Forecast from SNP to be copied to DP.

 

Please suggest a way to copy SNP Delivery Forecast to DP.

Conversion of Metric UoM to Non Metric UoM in Planning Book

Hello gurus ,

 

In our Planning book for U.S. , we have the products which are both Mass and Volume based.

The Base UoM for these products are Kg and L respectively in Product Master .

But , in case of US , these products need to be viewed in Pounds and Gallons .

We have created a custom ZUoM , which has conversion for both Kg and L (eg. 1z = 1Kg , 1z =1L) .

ZUoM is also the UoM defined for the Planning area.

 

Now , if these products are loaded separately (mass based together and volume based together ) ,

then there is no issue since alternate UoM can be selected in the planning book for these.

But , the users need to view them together in Gallon and Pound ,for revenue calculation purpose,

just like we can see products in Kg and L together which are maintained as Base UoM.

 

The issue is there because its not possible to convert KG to L or KG to Gallons and at a time only one alternative UoM can be selected in the planning book either Gallon or Pound.

 

Please share your views on the same.

Release DP to SNP- Peariod split

Dear Experts,

 

I have a couple questions in release demand to SNP

 

1) In our project a monthly forecast released from DP to SNP in weeks. The requirement is the forecast should be released based on some percentage per week  (Week 1: 50 %, Week 2: 25 %, Week 3: 10 %, Week 4. 15%( currently it distributing equally between weeks and we have not maintained period split profile)

 

I think this can be achieved by using period split profile where the month has 4 weeks.


My question is what happens if there is a week split between the months

 

2) The second question is split months to weeks based on some percentage and next Weeks to days based on percentage.

 

Can I Maintain 2 period split profiles in release profile to achieve ? How?

 

Please suggest the way to achieve the above two requirements.

Custom date horizon in Macros

Hi All,

 

Wanted to check if there is possibility to have the macros executed for dynamic date range. For example, one month would need the macro to run from Jan- June 2016, next month from March-July 2016 etc.

 

Can it be accomplished via user exit macros? Please suggest the approach.

Fiscal year Variant with 53 weeks

Hi guys,

 

We were facing a problem with 53 weeks in our fiscal year variant for the year 2017. The posting period is defined as 52 and in the calendar 53 weeks are maintained. Due to which we were not able to create time series object beyond 53 rd week ( 2017053) .

 

We came up with a solution of manually entering 53 posting weeks in the table T009Y for the year 2017. After which we were able to create time series objects beyond 2017053. We have done this in our development environment and as of now its working fine.

 

Has anyone done this before or is there any other possible solution? Also can anyone tell me about the possible impacts of manually changing data in T009Y. We also have BW for reporting part. Will there be any issues with the integration?

 

Any suggestions will be helpful.

Using Product Interchangeability Chains in DP ?

Hello Experts,

 

we are working on a Product Replacement solution in DP using a home-grown BW InfoObject / Attribute approach. Now I'm running over SAP's SCM7.0 DP help section (below) which explains that simple 1:1 Product Interchangebility chains can be used "within Demand planning" too.  To my (current) knowledge you can use following capabilities in SCM for modeling product-to-product change overs in DP: Like modeling, Phase-in/out modeling, Product split, Realignment …but not directly the ICCs in DP.

 

Therefore my question: is this a misunderstanding on my side reading SAP’s help since it simply means I can generate product split entries etc. from /INCMD/UI  _OR_ is there truly a usage possible in DP ? If so, how does that work ?

Quantities of Sales orders for deployment

Hi,

 

We have a scenario in deployment as follows.

 

A material is manufactured in plant 1 and dispatched to a distribution center plant 2 from where it is sold.  However the material is also sold from the manufacturing plant 1. 

 

When the order is received, a gATP check is performed and the order gets confirmed if stock is available.  For example the sale order is for 50 EA and stock available is 70 EA.  So we want the available quantity to be reduced by the quantity of confirmed sale order.  We have modified the category group of ATI and added sales order confirmed qty as qty issued.  So in the above scenario we see ATD receipts as 70 EA and ATD issues as 50 EA.  This leaves 20 EA available for deployment.  There is another sale order of 50 EA that is unconfirmed. 

 

This is fine.  But when we run deployment (with consideration of sales order demand at source location*), it is trying to deploy with fair share rule A against full demand of 50+50 EA at source location and the demand from distribution center. 

 

Since we have already reduced the available quantity by 50 EA, we want the source location demand also to be reduced.  The remaining quantity of 20 EA should be deployed against unconfirmed sale order of 50 EA and distribution demand from distribution center.

 

Is there a way to reduce the sale order demand quantities at source location?

 

*we run deployment in planning book 9ADRP_FSS.

APO Demand Planning weak points / Most common enhancements

What are some of the weak points you saw in APO Demand Planning - Meaning some feature which you think is not working as you should work and some feature which Planners/users complained about.

 

What are some of the areas where you had to use ABAP development ( Implementation or continuous improvement/support phase) because SAP doesnt have that standard feature

 

It is ok to mention even though these changes are because of a specific business procedure followed by your client -But try to mention any generic ones which sort of applies to every client such as lets say you feel auto model selection 56 doesnt work correctly and you had a work around to make it work better

 

I know this is a loaded question but contribute as much as you can so that we all can deliver the best output and make APO DP more likeable to our clients

/n/sapapo/sdp94(How to change the mode from display to change mode)

Hello team,

 

In /n/sapapo/sdp94 we have 4 planning books.

 

Out of 4 i can go to edit mode in all planning book except one planning book.

 

I dont see the edit button on the top left corner.

 

So could any one help me to resolve this issue.

SAP Paging overflow when storing data in the ABAP

Hi

 

After completion of SNP run in APO, when all receipt elements are getting transferred to ECC, we are getting error SAP Paging overflow when storing data in the ABAP' and all records (today it is almost 20000 records) are showing in Outbound Queue in APO.

Please suggest the possible steps to solve this error.

Planning Area transport

Dear Expert's

 

I am involving in  Planning area transport for the first time and need help in understanding the steps. Transporting from DEV to Quality.

Were we created a new POS and Planning Area. Please help in providing the steps. As I understood that

 

1)  Is that Chars and Key Figures to be transported before Planning area transport? or the Info objects transferd along with  PA at same time?

2)  Weather the Planning area in Source system to be deactivated before doing transport ? or active planning area can also be transported?

 

3)  T-code: /N/SAPAPO/TSOBJ: Shows many fields

 

     Transport of planning books: I can enter all the planning books and can be transported along with PA at same time?

    

     Transport Of Planning Areas:  Planning area name(POS can be transported along with PA)?

     

     With DataSource transport: transport the PA data source for backup cube. right?

   

     With Info Object Transport: transport Key Figures and Chars to source system before PA transport. right?( If it transfers the point 1 is not required, is      that  Right?

4) Is that in T-code: /N/SAPAPO/TSOBJ: The new planning area and planning books can be transported at same time or need create a couple of transports, first for PA and Second for Planning Books.

5) Is the storage buckets also transported along with PA? if not how to transport the Storage bucket or to be created directly in Quality system?
