Transfer Forecast from APO Demand Planning to ECC

We are using APO demand planning component. Because of our one project We had to change the name of calendar year variant name in APO. Now ECC and APO has different fiscal year variant names .After we made the changes we are having issues to transfer the forecast from APO to ECC.

 

Does fiscal year variant  has to be same in APO and ECC ? In ECC it's assign in MRP3 view and my thought it's used in MD63 to show the planned independent requirement but after the changes in APO MD63 is not getting updated.

Creating a promotion

Dear Experts,

 

We got an requirement for promotion planning in APO.I am facing an issue while creating a promotion through /SAPAPO/MP34

When I go to the T-code its giving me a popup as below

No valid version exists for planning area '9ADP01'

Do you want to initialize a planning version?

we are not using the planning area 9ADP01. We have the other PA which is initialized and need to plan the promotions.

 

Please help me resolve the issue. are there any things to be considered at Planning area level before we create promotions.

Add Formulas to a UDF

Hi everyone I have created a couple UDF for minStock, maxStock, CriticalBusinessVol... So we need the User defined Fields, to work with each other. For example: (AvgsalePerMonth x 3)+ CriticalBusinessVol = StockMin) So we basically need flexible fields who always when a related field changes, (Outgoing or incoming Products) adjust itself with a formula... Does anyone have experience in that? Appreciate, Florian

Storage bucket profile

Hi Experts,

 

Am trying to extend the storage bucket profile horizon since ours is only maintained until 2015 . However, I cannot extend the horizon end date. Tried to ask basis coz it might be an authorization issue but its not as I currently have sap all in our dev and quality system. Same issue is occurring in all environments. Maybe a sap note perhaps? Or configuration missed.

SAP Paging overflow when storing data in the ABAP

Hi

 

After completion of SNP run in APO, when all receipt elements are getting transferred to ECC, we are getting error SAP Paging overflow when storing data in the ABAP' and all records (today it is almost 20000 records) are showing in Outbound Queue in APO.

Please suggest the possible steps to solve this error.

SNP Planning run outputs

Hi Experts,

I am a beginner in SNP Module

 

I am curious to learn planning outputs of SNP in detail.

My supply chain is PC – DC – Customer.

  1. Kind of demands & Receipts created / confirmed out of Planning run Heuristics, Deployment & TLB.
  2. On what sequence these Planning runs are executed from DC to PC.
  3. What are all important Horizons considered during each of planning run.

 

Do we have any consolidated document for these outputs ? I am searching for this.

Period Split profile and Distribution Function

Hi All,

 

We release forecasts from DP in monthly buckets to daily buckets in SNP via MC90. As per business process, we want all the forecast to be present on the last week Tuesday/Wednesday as per factory calendar days of each month. Is it possible to release forecast on specific days? As the number of production days each month would vary as per factory calendar days how can we define the distribution function to count number of open days.

 

I tried releasing from monthly to last week and then distributing the volume to 2nd or 3rd day within the week by defining steps with period profile but behavior is not consistent. Any other inputs/suggestions please.

How to see the planned requirement and actual consumption of material in Process order?

Hi SAP Guru,

 

In Process order, I can see the planned and actual quantity for material in COR2/COR3.

 

Is there a way to see the info for a bunch of process orders in order to see the variance?

Modifying description and data in characteristic

Hello Experts,

 

I need to change the name of a characteristic and data in DP MPOS. How can I do this change without losing the data or reinitializing the planning area?


Plan is,

1) Use existing char A for storing another char B data. So we will change description of Char A to Char B .

Delete its data , attributes , compounding etc and reload it with new data relevant to char B.


2) Realignment of char A  to char B will be done. so new CVC will have char B in MPOS.


Please provide any step by step procedures required to be followed. Will this approach work ?

Any risks of losing data ?

Any need to initialize or reactivate MPOS, planning area ?

Do we need to change any infocube, MPOS , transfer rules etc where this characteristic is used ?

Custom date horizon in Macros

Hi All,

 

Wanted to check if there is possibility to have the macros executed for dynamic date range. For example, one month would need the macro to run from Jan- June 2016, next month from March-July 2016 etc.

 

Can it be accomplished via user exit macros? Please suggest the approach.

CTM Safety Stock Planning

Hi SAP Experts,

 

Asking for your help on the set up of safety stonk planning in CTM

 

We would like to use safety stock and below are the parameters maintained.

1. Take Safety Stock into Account (3) is selected in the planning version

2. Safety Stock Method SZ and Safetiy Day's supply is maintained in Product Master

3. CTM:

Supplies -> Build Up safety stock (Consider supply shortage, stock is available) -> Consider Safety Days' Supply (always consider) is selected, but the safety days supply is still not respected.

Issue with heuristic result using interchangeabillity

I need some help with a product for which we have created an interchangebillity.

Product number: A

new Product: B

Location xx

Change over DATE XX.XX.XXX

Old product switches to the new product, as you can see in planning book there is Substitution receipt planned after change over date.

However there are also still normal purchase requisitions planned after the change over date.

They should not be there. Can you see what is wrong?

APO Resource Hierarchy question

Hello all:

 

I've setup a Resource Hierarchy with several levels in /sapapo/relhshow.  I've assigned my new Resource Hierarchy to the Active Model.  I've gone into  /sapapo/msdp_admin and assigned this new Resource Hierarchy Structure to my Planning Area.

 

When I put orders on materials, I'm only getting Capacity Requirements on the Main Resource and One Grouping Level up.  I am not getting Capacity Requirements on any other higher levels.

 

Here are some details:

 

Hierarchy:

 

ZUS_SNP_RESOURCE  (Level 0)

   Plant Hierarchy (Level 1)

       Group BB Hierarchy (Level 2)

           Group B Hierarchy (Level 3)

               Actual Work Center (Level 4)

 

The Actual Work Center is getting the correct Capacity Requirements.  Group B is getting the correct Capacity Requirements.  However, Group BB and the Plant Levels are not getting any Capacity Requirements. 

 

I'm using PDS which has the Actual Work Center tied to the Material.  Since I'm getting requirements on this WC/Resource and one level up, I don't think it has to do with the PDS itself.  I must be setting up the Resource Hierarchy wrong or I'm missing something else.

which function module called CIF material transfer

Hi ,

 

I am trying to transfer material data from SAP ECC to SAP APO through CFM1.

 

How to find which function modules are called using data  transfer > I need to put external breakpoint in SAP APO end so that during transfer I come to know that particular function module is called

 

IS there any standard function module which is called for all CIF data transfer  or if not please help me which FM is called for Material transfer .

please explain me the steps .

Planning Book Selection window showing just one characteristic

Hi Experts,

 

Assigned all characteristics of DP planning object structure to planning book. All characteristics (product, location, customer, etc.) are appearing to choose from in show field & also in object selection window.

 

Say Product is chosen in show field, and plant is further chosen as selection criteria. On loading the selection only product field is appearing with 5 fields for product characteristic. By choosing selection fields able to show just one field for Product characteristic.

 

But don't see any option to display other characteristics like location, customer, etc. How to show them? Screen shot attached.
